Why it is more than paperwork
It is the only record. Without it, no future inspector, buyer or pest controller can tell whether the house has a physical barrier, a chemical treated zone, or both.
What to do at handover
Ask for it before you sign, and photograph it the day you get it. It is one of the cheapest items on any list to have rectified and one of the easiest to forget.
What comes next
Whatever the system is, it assumes periodic inspection, and most warranties require it. On a new estate that first inspection is usually twelve months after handover.
